360 Body Defense offers a unique mobility class.




360 Body Defense offers a unique mobility class. This class uses SMR (Self-Myfacial Release) coupled with corrective exercise. 

Self-Myofascial Release (SMR) is a technique used to relieve tension within the muscle, it can aid in improving flexibility, and can increase muscular performance. SMR works by applying pressure to trigger point knots within the muscle fibers using various tools such as foam rollers, massage balls, or other tools. The purpose of SMR is to release the tension within the fascia (the connective tissue that surrounds bones, muscles and joints).

Here are just of few of the countless benefits of Self-myofacial release:


  • Enhances Muscle Flexibility and Range of Motion by releasing tension within the joint.
  • May reduce effects of DOMS (Delayed On-set Muscle So reness)
  • May improve muscle recovery
  • May prevent and improve Muscle Imbalances and Injuries: Regularly using SMR may aid in identifying and addressing some muscle imbalances and stiffness that over a period of time can lead to injuries. Alleviating tension in the overactive muscles and allowing the opposing underactive muscles to relax SMR can lead to muscle balance reducing the risk of injury.
  •  May relieve Stress and promote relaxation: Applying pressure to the muscles during SMR may aid in stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, this promotes relaxation and may reduce overall levels of stress. SMR may have positive effects on mental wellness and can lead to a sense of relaxation and calmness.
  • These classes are also offered as online group classes to try in the comfort of your own home. 


Overall, adding self-myofascial release into your regular workout routine can have numerous benefits for individuals looking to enhance their mobility, and overall physical performance.


Individuals that are unable to get to the floor for stretching can also do most of the stretches sitting in a chair. For the older population or for individuals with physical limitations and/or injuries there is still a way to stretch in a safe way.
