Krav Maga- What does it mean and what is it?
Krav= Fight/ Combat
Maga= Contact
It is a self-defense system. It is NOT a martial art.
***Krav Maga is not considered a martial art because it is not a competition sport. It is strictly used for self-defense purposes. The skills learned in Krav Maga are made to cause physical harm to the attacker. The moves learned are illegal in MMA and other combat related sports.
The defenses learned are designed to get away from the attacker as fast as possible. Our main objective every time we leave our home is to return safely. The world we live in is never as safe as we would like for it to be. There are unfortunately dangers lurking around any corner. Protecting ourselves and our loved ones is always our top priority. Learning how to protect your personal space is essential. Not only does Krav Maga teach an individual how to protect themselves it also gives them a sense of self-worth.
What are some things you can expect to learn from this class?
*Gaining a sense of self-worth
*Importance of protecting your personal space
*Importance of being aware of your surroundings

I cannot mention self-defense/Krav Maga without mentioning my Professor. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from one of the best.

He has traveled to Israel several times to become certified in teaching Krav Maga. He was a coach on the Ultimate Fighter. He has trained with and coach several UFC fighters. He has been invited to different law enforcement teams to teach his skills to officers. He has traveled the world both for martial arts and for art. He is a sculptor and musician. He has also learned several languages.He truly his amazing. I have had the privilege and honor of being trained by an absolute legend. I am thankful for his patience and consistency. He has motivated me and encouraged me in so many ways. Through teaching me self-defense he has also unknowingly built up my self-worth and self-confidence. He taught me that I am worth fighting for. He has taught me that my emotions, feelings, voice, spirit and body are all valuable and deserve to be protected. Though he has all these accolades and knows a million ways to hurt someone he is literally the most humble person I know. Thank you Professor for taking me under your wing and taking me on this journey of finding my value and worth. You are amazing.

I have also had the privilege of taking part in a women's self-defense seminar with "Mean Girl Self-Defense". The women I met are instructors from all over the United States. They are incredible and fierce. I love their fire and passion to reach others and spread knowledge on self-defense. We are all apart of such a huge vision.
